London, Hyde Park, July 20th 2002

Hyde Park... 3 years later!!! It was great to be back there to see the BAdman once again after that unforgettable gig in 1999... with some old friends, and some new ones! :)
The day started with some clouds but soon turned into a hot glorious summer day... that is, until the start of the concert, when a cold wind started to blow and everyone stared at the sky! But as Bryan knew... it didn't rain! "If it's sunny over there, it doesn't rain over here" - take this pill of Bad wisdom and apply it if you can... to me it didn't make much sense at all :))). But at least he was right!
Anyway, enough about the weather... lining up was long but nice, especially after we opened the champagne :).
At 4pm the gates opened... the security wasn't too bad for once and let us run like mad things... and what a R U N! It was like crossing 2 football fields - never ending! I ran out of breath when I was still miles away from the stage... but we kept running anyway and we all got our spot in the 1st row.

L-R: Anna, Mic, Marzia, Roberta
Only thing to complain about: the cameras were right at the same height as the guys so they covered them every now and then. Toe (Bry's stage manager) told the cameramen to lower them but the one at our side must have been a new guy... he didn't mange to! Oh well... Bryan had a mike right in front of us and he came often, and also called Keith to join him there, which was nice ;)).
The support acts were Vega4 and Delirious? (someone explain me the question mark, please...;)). Not too bad, but a bit too U2-like (and I love U2!). See Cardiff for pics and more details on how *crazy* the Vega4 singer was...
Then finally it was Bryan... singing Here I Am, quite appropriately! It was a good, really GOOD show!

Great songs including what Bryan called his "most obscure song"... which happens to be one of my all-time fave, Into The Fire... and even a bit of Hearts On Fire acoustic (just Bry on the acoustic guitar), which just melted me down! I still shiver if I think of it! Oh, and how great to have some keyboards again in Everything I Do, finally! :) And the Elvis song, A Little Less Conversation, on the b-stage sounded pure rock! The guys ran through the audience to get there! Great fun, I'm so glad they keep doing it.

As I said, the security wasn't too bad this time (especially if compared to HP '99!!) but Bryan stopped during EID to tell them to leave us the f***alone anyway... :) thank you Bryan.
Last song of the show was a very, very good version of Best Of Me. We sang Happy B-day to Keith with Bryan twice, and Bryan hugged him and kissed him and ended the show with him... Keith appreciated all of it, and our banners too :)).
Bryan loved the gig and said the London audience is just... "the best"! :)
After having been to a few London shows now I must agree... London is a special place for Bryan indeed. But there's another place which really knows how to rock, and that's Cardiff! Read about it and finally see the pics here! >>>
